Period & Heritage Property Restoration

The West Midlands is full of beautiful older housing stock — Victorian terraces, Edwardian semis, period cottages — and they deserve better than a botched modernisation that strips out everything that made them special. We restore period properties sympathetically: keeping the character, fixing what's failing and bringing the rest up to modern standards.

  • Sash and timber window repair and refurbishment
  • Lime plaster and traditional finishes where appropriate

How it works

  1. 1

Survey of the property to understand what's original, what's failing and what's been altered.

  2. 2

An honest plan — what's worth saving, what needs replacing and why.

  3. 3

Careful work that protects original features and matches existing detail.

  4. 4

A finish that respects the age of the house while it works for modern living.

Why choose Revive

Restoration is the opposite of a rip-out-and-replace job — it takes patience and a respect for how the house was built. We'd rather repair an original sash window than fit plastic, and match a moulding profile than box it in. Two decades working on Black Country period homes means we know what's worth keeping.

RestorationFAQs

Do you work on listed buildings?

We work on period and heritage properties regularly. For listed buildings, listed building consent may be required for certain work — we'll talk you through it and work to the appropriate standards.

Can you match original features like cornicing and skirting?

Yes — we can repair existing mouldings or replicate them so new work is indistinguishable from the original. Keeping the detail consistent is what makes a restoration look right.

Is it cheaper to restore or replace?

It depends on the feature and its condition. We'll always give you an honest comparison — sometimes restoring is the better value and the better result; sometimes a sympathetic replacement makes more sense. No pressure either way.
